Vulcano | Teresa Margolles. Ya basta hijos de puta, PAC Milan

Vulcano supports PAC Milan for the personal exhibition of Teresa Margolles, Mexican artist who lives and works between Mexico City and Madrid. With a particular disposition for raw realism, her works reflect the complexities of contemporary society, affected by an alarming violence that’s tearing the world and especially Mexico. Minimalist style with a strong impact, Margolles’s 14 installations explore the uncomfortable themes of death, social injustice, gender hatred, marginality and corruption, generating a constant tension between horror and beauty.

Promoted by the Municipality of Milan – Culture and produced by PAC with Silvana Editoriale, the exhibition is part of the Art Week calendar, a week dedicated to contemporary art, an occasion for Teresa Margolles to present a tribute performance to Karla, a transsexual prostitute murdered in Ciudad Juárez (Mexico) in 2016. A strong action, which leave an open wound on the PAC walls.
